• Topics Covered: History of translation, linguistic equivalence, literal vs. free translation, text type analysis, and introductory localization concepts.

• Course Objectives: Deconstruct the cognitive process of shifting meaning and train students in structural vocabulary alignment from and into the department language.

• Learning Outcomes: Ability to systematically analyze text ambiguities, identify translation challenges, and apply core methodologies to resolve them.

• Tools & Materials: Theoretical translation manuals, parallel text corpuses, and sentence-alignment worksheets.

• Comments: A bi-directional course focusing strictly on managing text production and decoding within the department language framework.
